Friendship Undefined

I do not think
they will ever get it,
I do not think they realize
that it is not something
that we can explain,

it’s not build on lies
its build on friendship
that ties two people together,
that has no expectations
besides living each day
with the knowledge
that someone
understands them…

with the knowledge
that when I’m wrong
I’ll get a kick up the butt
and when I’m heartbroken,
sad or downtrodden
someone is there
that will help me up,
that will hold my hand…

without being judged,
without fear
of opening yourself up
an end up being labeled
as a failure, that its amity
not meant to hurt
or exclude anyone…

it’s a haven for two souls
founded on the grounds
of purity, mutual trust and love…
not the, I want to wake up
next to you kind of love
but a weird, unique unified kind of love…

So well written and so true, Wilma! What a blessing to have friends like that. I'm lucky to be among the people who have such friends. Thanks for sharing Wilma and thank you for your kind comments on my latest. Love, Caroline.

There is truly a unique love that friends share, platonic friends. You made me think of a friend who was always there to offer comfort for 18 years until he died. He loved me in a way that no other person ever has. Accepted my faults, offered encouragement. You really made me think of this dear friend today, Wilma. God bless you. Love, Carolyn
