Friendship

We were just kids playing around
You would always make me smile
But over the years we grew up
And things got too messed up
Sometimes I cry, life is unfair
But for me you were always there
To the world I don’t exist
You told me to live, but I resist
When you’re with me I am not scared
My soul is free ready to be bared
Amongst the crowd you make me stand tall
I know next to you I will never fall.
The time we spent together is not as light as feather
Can’t be taken away from me for it’s meant to be
As you hold my hand our hearts are tied in band
When you are near it defines me clear
That you are my best friend forever.

A beautiful poem for a friend, or someone you love. You can put it under Rhyme (because it rhymes), if you like. It is wonderful to have someone in your life you can rely on. Welcome to PoetrySoup :)
