Friends Or Frenzies
How usurping, how intact
the problem rising from my lack
the power line cord's react
chewed or lightning hit, blew stack!
Installed in '70's, contract
before the codes became exact
with lightning striking, breaker blew
the meter gauging it snapped too!
My simple trust, I dug into
each method of protective view
was scored to mediate, live through
electric function, trailers do!
My friend stood by, she took me home
into her world, her nurturance prone
I marveled at her constant gate
and so chipped in, to share my fate!
The weeks went by, two and then three
to find the problem, contacts be
would grow to numbers 1, 2, 3
Insurance fix its bodily!
So wired for sound, efficiently
a call American Family
two hundred miles plus, fifty drove
arrived on time, adjustors strove!
Manager of ground, a park, named Jim
Insurance man, they met with him
must move the steps, skirting, a tree
it mounted up incredibly!
The time's abrupt was rain's decree
we needed badly, Midwest corn
just wait, and wait, the part's would need
25' cord, to breaker, worn!
My friend worked days, not aimlessly
a trip to Canada perceived
she planned it out meticulously
I helped with dishes and laundry.
She served the meals, and I as guest
contributing you know at best
bringing in food and little things
to keep the household functioning.
A country home, with such a view
the picture window, each day greet
we prayed together, and shopping
survivals quest kept numbering!
The Classic movies from eighties
Bonanza, Gun Smoke, John Wayne's best
blankets and pictures, her reprieve
was all about the life out West!
I towed the mark contributing
and then it came her time to leave
Alberta, cherished family
Brothers, with new arrivals be!
