Friends Or Foes

Your sufferings, all alone
To your rescue, a loan
Instantly, a seed you've sown
Finally, you smell nice in your cologne
and now, they say him we own

Their hats, each takes off for you
Like a gullible ewe,
Thou attend to the needs of not just a few
In the mad rush to help all in queue,
Their jealous minds have you no cue

A pit, they dug and covered with a mat
In the night, they dash out like a bat
and in the morning discuss where you sat
In the midst of cats, an innocent rat
Playing not outside its flat

Certainly, the one you love you know
The one who loves you? No!
Sometimes the one you love, a foe
In your creator, you glow
and reap what you sow

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

The Title leads on to a wonderful poem, regarding the human race, and its failings and truth. Yes the last stanza says it all, Adeniji. Stay well...Harry

The lines are about those who pretend to be your friends for their selfish interests but you can hardly know. Only the Creator can protect one from their attacks

Greetings. Much varacity in your finely, Beautiful, sculpted lines, Adenini! No matter what our fellow man does tou us, God sees it! He sees the good they do as well. Including all who ignore you. Your relationship withe God is the most significant. He is perfect. Humans are apt to let you down and are two faced. Huggs, Pangie

Excellent, profound write: We really do have much greater control over our fate, as you say. We are partners with our creator...but to use that partnership wisely is the learning task (To know one's true creator and benefactor). We can give and receive, or take and be taken, owned~ priorities are everything.

Well said, Joe. Our creator is the best partner we can ever have. Regards, Adeniji.
