Friends'
Strangers we were when we first met.
Somewhat timid, demure, and shy.
Wondering why we were here, and yet,
Learning more as the days flew by.
Soon we discovered a common goal,
And each was a member of the team.
We, got involved, body and heart and soul.
The project took on it's own life, so it seemed.
When the time came for some to depart,
Forty years passed and lo, and behold,
We gather at that familiar old place.
For a re-union truly worth more than gold,
As we saw each familiar face'
Strangers we were when we first met,
But thanks be to God, that's not how it ends,
The more we cherish our life-long friends.
