Friends
It would take so little time to say hello.
There’s so many people in my classes.
But they all seem to have each other.
It drives me crazy, but I don’t care.
I never did a sport or club.
A book club seems pointless.
Sure, I would enjoy the book.
But my parents would rather me forget the book and just make friends.
They don’t say it like that.
But when I’m watching tv for hours, alone.
And my mom brings me a snack.
I can tell she’s ashamed.
So I stand up, and walk to the kitchen.
I do the dishes without her asking.
Hoping she will be proud.
Hoping she will stop bugging me.
About why I never have friends over.
