Notes About The Poem
This is my entry for Time for Dinner: An Entree Acrostic Challenge Poetry Contest by Andrea Dietrich

Fried Chicken

Fond Sunday dinner memories
Roasted in other recipes
I prefer my chicken fried
Each recipe is vintage
Delicious dream comes true

Crisp perfection upon a plate
Hours to prepare
Islands of chefs perfect their chicken
Coated with ranch or lemon
Kitchens record each bite
Every recipe is right
No recipe is wrong

Yes, fried chicken from years ago brings back pleasant memories. My mother cooked salt pork (side meat) every morning for breakfast for my father because that is what he wanted. She always saved the fat from the frying of the meat. She always when I was growing up used that fat to fry anything with but today it is taboo because of the cholesterol. Congrats on your winning work. Way to go. Sara K

People worked too hard back then to need to worry about cholesterol. Thanks for the review.
