Freeing My Creativity

We all have a flash
Of a sense of wonder
Now and then-
A moment in time
A person, place, or thing
Or even a PS contest
That inspires motivation

Oh, when it happens
I try to capture it's image
Its sounds, it's smells
And once I feel it
Really feel it vividly
It'll lead me right back
To my imagination
Then I write furiously
Painting my poetry of words
Freeing my creativity
And emerge with my triumphant
Accomplishment

It seems that your poetry comes from the hidden place inside......it just needs the spark to set it on fire. That too, is how it works for me...and why I enjoy the contests.......I sometimes need that spark when my muse is dead. I love the last word of this poem..that says it all ! :)

Isn't it wonderful what the contests unleash in us?? I feel kind of angry when I see poets blogging about how they don't think a poet should just be entering lots of contests. I think the challenges is THE big attraction of soup. Nearly every poem I post is based on them!

This is all too true my friend! We all go about our days and something will catch our imagination, and we'll harbor this creativity until we can write it down...just hoping that our creativity and imagination hasn't left us when we do write this incredible incident down! You never know when this will come, it can be anywhere at anytime, something will spark the ingenious part of you and you want to write! You speak the truth here within your poem! This totally awesome and wonderful write!

Yes, words come and go and we must grab them before they fade forever. Warm Smiles, Connie
