I tell you what came into my mind straightaway reading this Linda (and only because it happened to me recently) There was some sudden summer rain (actually we've had loads of rain this UK summer) I put up the umbrella to keep dry and then collapsed it when the rain stopped..only for me to be soaked again from the rain that remained on the surface of the umbrella. I think it was my position when I collapsed it. :) Cheers - Gary

LOL. It happens Gary. I was in Dover once and was so proud to have brought my umbrella. I opened it before stepping out of the car. The winds promptly turned it inside out. I was drenched but couldn't stop laughing. We don't get much practice with umbrellas in Texas. LOL Thanks for the fun story! cheers :)

Ah those sudden summer rains im so familiar with them. I love this haiku and how youve woven words is so creative especially “ collapsible umbrellas”
