Freedom's Fancy

Good leaders cannot agree about world order
Yet many believe freedom is indivisible
Privileged tolerance then shall foil fool's fancy

If freedom is intrinsic in the human race
Will we agree it is a right for everyone
Are all fated for forever to find freedom

Why do some seem more worthy than distant others
Are we not basically best brothers and sisters
Seeing the future of our species all be free

While we all are dependent islands for freedom
We are still surely part of the main, just the same
Where are the wise who will make courageous comment

The battleground of the collective over self
Bloody wars have been blindly waged for eons
Solemn, silent gifts from the divine unanswered

The best citizens are citizens of the world
Is it true everyone shall think this way someday
Better angels can change nationalist egos

When world orders silently intervene it can be more of a move or greed and control then world peace. Let's pray for world peace and that all players can unite peacefully.

Sadly you are right James. Basic urges drive nations and humans to do cruel things so often. History is littered with these tales. Thanks for hosting.

Humans seem to have little success in setting world order. Who should set it anyhow? It is a hot topic today. Thanks as always for your insights.

I enjoyed reading your verses; it's similar to looking into a nice stream of actions with fantastic imagery related to justice, liberty, and freedom. Great poem, Greg. We have the same writing tendency; please look at my page and give me some feedback. Thanks

Lasaad, thank you for you kind comments and obvious interest in issues of freedom and world order. I see those themes in your work. I believe you should continue to refine your writing skills and give light to these causes. Poetry can be a vehicle for that, although some would disagree. Be well.
