Freedom of Speech
Talk is easy, talk is cheep.
Everyone believes in freedom of speech.
We have our freedom up to a point,
Until we offend someone at a local joint.
Then the word spreads from town to town.
It’s this talk that spreads the words around.
Next thing you know you’re taken to court.
Over something you said in moral support.
Someone calls the media out to observe.
They broadcast that you didn’t get what you deserve.
So the case goes back for a retrial,
As you wonder what happened in denial.
The words that you spoke is now heard by all,
As the nation watches from home as you fall.
So the question I ask to each of you,
Is the freedom of speech very true?
For in this nation nothing is free,
Not even words as you can see.
