FREEDOM IN CHRIST

Anxiety has me in a chokehold
Frustration causing me to lock and load
On the ropes trying not to emotionally drown
Life feels like quicksand dragging me further down
I’m on my knees praying for relief
Begging God to take away all my grief

I yearn to have a freedom in Christ
I desire to surrender to Him my life
I yearn to release my ways and my will
I need the Holy Spirit in me unsealed

I tried to do this all on my own
I now know I need the power of God’s throne
To shift me, to lift me, to set me up right
To strengthen me, to lengthen me,
 to take away my plight
Lord cover me with the sacrificial blood
Grant me Your indefatigable love

I’m trading the pressure for the promise
I’m trading the panic for the peace
My hands are now wide open
I’m ready for the Spirit to be released
Fear is a memory, the future is here
Lord come unto me as I lay my soul bare

I yearn to have a freedom in Christ
I desire to surrender to Him my life
I yearn to release my ways and my will
I need the Holy Spirit in me to now heal
 

Fill me with Your goodness
Saturate me with Your grace
Let the Holy Spirit empower me
To possess an unwavering faith

I yearn to have a freedom in Christ
I desire to surrender to Him my life
I yearn to release my ways and my will
let a freedom in Christ to me be revealed

fill me with Your goodness
saturate me with Your grace
let the Holy Spirit infuse me 
with an unwavering faith
cover me with the sacred blood
bestow to me your indefatigable love
fear is now a distant memory
the future is now here
Lord enter unto me as I lay my soul bare
I yearn to have a freedom in Christ
I desire to relinquish to Him my life
I yearn to release my ways and my will
Let a freedom in Christ in me be revealed
