Freedom

Freedom is never free.
Respect our liberty.
Enjoy its many rights.
Expect it may cause fights.
Democracy survives,
Only if backed with lives.
May we not let it die.

Very nicely written! I agree with you.. no I didn’t get to serve. I wanted to but I flunked the height and hearing. In the 70’s you had to be 5’3, I wasn’t even 5ft. Thank you for your service ?? I believe in and appreciate those who has, are, and will fight for our freedom!!

Interesting. So much said with a few lines. I love it. We are never done talking about this subject until it becomes a reality. I wrote about it as well and it took a completely different turn. Check out my poem called 'Freedom' , if you'd like. All the best to you.

I enjoyed this wonderful acrostic, Bartholomew - it's very difficult to get a whole story or message across with such limited word counts, but your message is clear here, patriotic, heart-felt, and thoughtful. Very nicely done, my friend! I am a firm believer in Democracy and the irradication of hatred of ANY kind. Blessings! :-)

Greg, thank you very much for your kind words! I truly appreciate them. Thank also for being the first to comment. Not sure why so much "silence" before despite the number of views. I believed in this acrostic. Thanks for believing in it, too. I appreciate that you are consistently a solid beacon of hope, optimism, and positive energy on PS. Blessings to you & your family always!! :) Bartholomew
