As usual this is great. I didn't quite catch the meaning of the last line - perhaps it's my simple Texas mind getting in my way. Regardless it was a crisp read

I too remain curious about my Texas simpleness! Having had an opportunity to re-read without noise in the background I'm embarrassed that I didn't catch the meaning the first time. It's beautiful (at least I got that part right the first time)

Thank you. But it is Tanka by virtue of the most meaningful last line. Mere structural correctness does not make a Tanka ... at least so i feel ... i remain curious of Texas simpleness...
