Freedom
No matter, what I have and I get,
No matter, whatever I achieve.
If success goes to my head,
And it provokes hate and regrets!
I am not free to be me,
Greed remains my impish glee!
If I am biased, I know it,
And find it logical for my benefit.
If I am not upright,
And have no conscience to confide.
I am not free to be me,
Just a dead soul’s shameless spree!
If I learn to quit,
And it becomes my habit.
If I point out your flaws,
And for myself, I forget all the laws.
I am not free to be me,
Vampire in me, becomes the signatory!
Life is a battle,
And if I don’t play a fair game.
If fear limits me and my creativity,
And this doesn’t set my spirit aflame.
I am not free to be me.
Timidity becomes the referee!
If I trifle with the emotions of those who love me,
And those who blindly trust me.
Hey! I am still not free!
I am selfish, yet I set a plea!
For me, freedom is “free to be me.”
And I shall be free when I conquest myself.
That’s the only key!
Yes! You do agree!
