Free Your Heart

You smile at me while your heart
escapes into another world

imagination is your friend and you
wonder when it will end

this place no one sees and makes
you feel like you have never died

Like the dancer who walks
across the room and looks in your eyes

And searches your soul like
you never seen before

you dont want her to leave but she’s
already moved on to another soul

she says we knew each other long ago
and I’m never really gone

like wind that comes and goes
I can see you but I don't know who you are

and what your soul mean to me
in this place we share

where angels sing songs when you sleep
because they love you

and guide to the place you thought you could go back to
only to find its not there anymore

this place you where you dream every night
and think of love and the weekend outings

Believing your soul is lost in this world
and never knowing when your home

like the poets lost dream, never finding it again
because inspiration comes around only once

when its gone you wonder what happened
and why cant I get it back

Like the horse running in the field for first time
he knows its special but not until it’s over

so I paint pictures of what I want and hope
I don't go into a corner and never come out

and stand in the doorway watching people come and go
waiting to join them

with my heart free
