Free Fall

Here lies Molly Ferguson St. Marie She fell out of a big oak tree Landed on her head And soon she was dead It was her last tom-boy spree.

Such a jazzy cadence about death. I like that!

I liked what Gershon said. See my response to him.

Funny and poignant at the same time. Nicely penned, Milt. :) gw

Yeah, gw, I never know how to post an epitaph that is a limerick. I always think limericks should be funny or bawdy. But, the epitaph is neither, really. Thanks for your comment. It helped me.

You have begun to excel in limericks too ! Her 'tom boy spree' , I enjoyed, though really sad !

It was sad, Valsa, which is why I wrote it like an epitaph and listed it so. I didn't think it was appropriate for a limerick, which is generally humorous or bawdy. Nope, I'm still struggling with the limerick syllabication and rhythm. Thanks for your encouraging words.

(chuckling) I'm glad, Jenna. I think they are funny. But, most epitaph have a sad note, so it's a bit factitious to label them humor!
