Free Cee Let the Bees Be

LET THE BEES BE

I was ordered to surrender
by someone who used to be so tender
and i've changed my face so many times before
while exiting an iron clad door

I sat in a seat of deadened wood dried by the ages
and read a yellowed newspaper while turning pages
each page showed me shadows of yesterday
but none had much of importance to say

I read of death and destruction
and more needless concrete construction
cows used to sleep where iron now rises
and a heard of men in the mistiness of many disguises

and so she asked me to wave a white flag
but I wouldn't raise a faded denim rag
I had to leave before her unpleasant pleas
and that's when I discovered that love can sting like a million Mexican yellow bees

I enjoyed your rhyme scheme. It soins like the person in the poem hung on as long as they dared!
