Free Cee Let the Bees Be
LET THE BEES BE
I was ordered to surrender
by someone who used to be so tender
and i've changed my face so many times before
while sheltered behind an iron door
I sat in a seat of deadened wood dried by the ages
and read a yellowed newspaper while turning pages
each page showed me shadows of yesterday
but none had much anymore of importance to say
I read of death and destruction
and more needless concrete construction
cows used to sleep where iron now rises
and heard of men in the shade of many disguises
and so she asked me to wave a white flag
but distance would be her only gag
so I would not hear her unpleasant pleas
and that's when I discovered that love can sting like a hive of a million yellow bees
