Free Cee I Was Wrong To Make a Right

i made a right turn traveling toward triumph and success
a young suburban white boy with little to belittle or bless
i was dope sick as can be to the core
strolling the part of a city where i'd never been before

my footsteps were quickend by quixotic desperation
while filled with fear, anxiety and exasperation
i was in a situtation just doing what i must
faced with black faces who didn't care if they turned my mortal coil into dust

i was down on my luck and down on my knees
and every dealer oblivious to my pleading "oh come on please"
but a young 19 year old junkie didn't have much of a choice
because if they killed me all they would have done rejoice

finally one of the dealers opened his door
as i was prepared to hand over fifty bucks or even more
suddenly one of them produced a nickel plated gun
and i was filled with more fear than anyone

he put the gun to my young suburban white head
and couldn't have cared less if i ended up dead
so i came up with nothing after giving them my money and all of the glory
and forty years later i'm surprised i'm still here to relate this sordid story
