Free Cee Hold Me At My Threshold
A THRESHOLD FORETOLD
I but strolled over my unadorned threshold
And what, of all things, did mine eyes behold
Begged I let not this be she
The she I was meant to meet yet hoped she not be the she I prayed she would not turn out to be
And then she sighed to speak to me
And spoke my name as only a seraphim could
Then suddenly was the sublime, by me, at last wholly understood
Oh that she is the she who shone so shamelessly
Shaming the sun while daring to amble by aimlessly
Beside a man who saw her countenance too long denied
And there she was right by my side
But it matters not that she will never be the she for my arms to enfold
For all I did was to stroll over my unadorned threshold
And there she was brighter than Cleopatra’s gold
Able to beguile even DaVinci with the vision of Mona Lisa’s smile
Breaking a spell I’d been in for far too long a while
Brightening my darkness with her sumptuous style
A woman more engaging than ever I’d been told
And now I’m so thankful for the few moments she adorned my threshold
A door which led me to a golden rose with no slivered nor sharpened thorn
And finally it was my threshold she arrived to adamantly adorn
Beauty by breathlessness born
And how to conquer with her warmth my callous cold
Oh, and forever I will recall how she sultrily and sumptuously adorned my threshold
