GOD NIGHT LIGHT
You could do this one thing for me
You simply don’t
You could do something for me
You simply won’t
You could say yes to me
You simply refuse
You won’t even confess to me
But that ain’t no big news
You could help me out here
You simply don’t dare
You could stop my every tear
You simply don’t care
You could let me in on why
And all the secrets you keep
They tell me you made the earth and sky
Then why, God, won’t you grant me a normal night’s sleep
