Free Cee An Outcast From the Past
AN OUTCAST FROM THE PAST
It was forty-second street circa 1963
there was them and then there was me
I wanted what I knew was good
but not in my neighborhood
I became an outcast but didn't care
me and heroin made quite a pair
I loved it and it loved me
and it was the only time I really felt free
with every bag and every hit I grew stronger
while my fling with a powerful powder grew longer
weeks, months, days and years
and oh, my poor mama's tears
I knew the risks when I began this affair
but because of the peace I didn't care
I did too much sweating and dope too often
therefore I wrote this note that now lies with me in my coffin
