Free Cee a Master of Disaster

A FUTURE AFIRE

We discussed the future but never the fire
Or the repercussions of a demon’s desire
We spoke about a thousand years spent as one
But we wouldn’t live past the damage once Satan was done

We talked about tomorrows but neglected that night
We spoke about ghosts but ignored the fright
We talked about filling a house with children and love
But a house isn’t much good without a solid roof above

We lacked the protection tar, tiles and forever affords
And it was never easy for either of us to cut chords
Shackled to the shamefulness of wanting more
More of these and those shiny ones over there by the score

Greed replaced goodness when need negated necessities
While wilted on the vine were those sweet red raspberries
The ones we hand picked on Martha’s Vineyard last fall
One year before a demon of disaster came to call

We discussed those demons but not as if they were real
We spoke about Satan as if his effect on us was no big deal
Well I can’t speak for you but I now live with misery as my master
Ever since you heeded the demands urged by demonic disaster
