A BUSHEL OF BEAUTY
You are more beautiful then a bushel of bouquets
born to mesmerize and amaze
it doesn't matter what words of love you may say
no matter what they make me heart fly away
my heart's been to the moon and back
bathed in sunlight until the sky turned black
suddenly there was every planet ever known of
and especially the planet of love
Venus was called upon to duplicate its beauty with you
and Mars made miracles and magic all become true
when my gaze falls upon your image faint grow my knees
and on a breathless August afternoon suddenly there was you and a breeze
a bushel of bouquets, the planets and the sky
that's what I owe you for teaching me to fly
each of us have shed far too many tears
so all I ask with you is at least one hundred years
