Free

Free

Like a butterfly
forcefully beating its wings.
Wanting to fly
yet caught in one place...

How I wish to be free,
to soar in the sky.
Perfect blue
nothing tying me down...

Forgo my attachments.
People and creatures,
depending on me and my love.
Never - it can not be done...

So I remain in the jar,
lid slightly cracked open,
a promise of freedom above
biding my time to be free at last...
