Fred

I do not feel as though I lost you,
I lost you so long ago,
Now prepared for our final farewell
I sit inside this hall
Hearing family speak of you
who barely knew you at all.

Sobs fill the room now,
And your song begins to play
Slowly they begin to wheel your coffin away
And it is in this moment I wonder
As I wipe the tears away
Is it right to mourn your death?
I never knew you anyway
