Fourth of July

Fourth of July, time for fireworks and fun,
Our nations birthday, we'll all celebrate.
Uncle Sam is the man of the hour on this date
Reaffirming our values and food by the ton.
Two Hundred and thirty-nine years old today,
Hang out the colors, the red, white blue.

Our Emblem of Glory, the tried and the true
Freedom awaits those who come the right way.

Just as brave and as loyal as our fathers before,
Uniting to honor the flag passing by,
Laughing while watching starbursts in the sky,
Young and old showing love for country once more.

A very beautiful acrostic honoring the USA Joyce. We are such a melting pot, but when someone becomes a citizen they join in the pride of knowing they may embrace freedom and all it entails. Brava Joyce! 7
