Four Walls and Covid 19
Four walls closed in fear
and a window with a view,
is that me in here
without you?
Outside a spring flower scene
with daffodil bloom and birds that sing
and I inside alone quietly scream
restricted under quarantine.
Looking at these prison walls closing in
I lack the combative sense
that reveals need recognizing this safety pin
as the mind retreats to images of healthy defense.
Fear not, I am safe and securely curled
listening to the news that over scores
the seriousness around this netherworld
with praise and prayer for those protecting me and yours.
To those on the front lines, risking their own health,
God bless and protect in these worrysome days.
