Four String Tender

I grabbed my guitar and the four strings in line

I strummed them so long til my heart was satisfied

These four strings that i strummed repeatedly

keep strumming my heart cry ever so subtly

tears slip from my eyes like dripping hot candle wax

my eyes are the fire burning, fierce and contained

but the fire brimming wild is the one in my soul

each string has its own tune of voice

when sung together makes a heartbreaking noise.

It keeps the volcano from erupting rooted inside

then silence comes and rests and

the guitar is set aside.
