Four In Haiku

butterflies flying
I see them, beautiful
want to go with them

rainbow colored skies
smell of lavender in air
banana pudding on tongue

pearls of gold sunlight
sapphire blue dripping
golden leaves falling

trees are standing tall
birds singing sweet music
songs of memory filled past

Hey, I came back here to discuss our horoscopes. You said OCt. 7, 1955. I am not November. Don't know why you thought that. I am SEpt 5, 1955!! So actually you share a lot of my numbers in numerology. Oct, tenth month is a "1" and that is my name number! 7 is my DESTINY number while for you it is birth day number. Five vibrates extra strongly in me because it is also my birth day number. If I add all your numbers, you are birth path 8 / Destiny 1 and I get along great with ONES!! awesome.

Debbie, I'm no authority on Haikus, I just struggle and pound my knuckles trying to determine if my poem is qualified as a haiku. I think this entry can be called a haiku..... and a damn good one at that!! Nice Job.... Love Ya, Jake

Glad to see your beautiful haiku this morning. I loved doing mine for that contest. Now I am running out of ideas for any of the other contests! These have incredible imagery. And the banana on tongue is such a unique line!

Enjoyed reading your descriptive work..I am glad that I chose this one to read today..Thanks for stopping by..Yes, I watch the Red Cardinals out my kitchen window for if I open the door they fly away..Someday I am going out there and just sit and see if they come and eat and drink with me out there..Thanks for stopping by..When I go out on the porch and sit, I see birds from a slight distance..They come with me there unafraid..Your review was uplifting..Sara

Deb when I write for a contest, what I submit is colored by what I THINK the judge likes, how they themselves see the form, write the form..not all of what label haiku for a contest would I consider haiku [the breast one I would not consider haiku..it is haiku LIKE]
Duncan Avatar

I wondered about that " breast" one being a real haiku,,,, yes do show me/ explain ;} thanks Debbie !
