Found Love at First Sight

“Dream as if you will live forever; Live as if you will die today.”
 James Dean

Found Love at First Sight

I was in a café shop, staring, wondering.
Then I saw her outside the display window.
She was extremely beautiful.
She was looking at me, not moving.
I smiled, light like a silver cloud.

For a moment, I was mesmerised.
She seemed in a hurry. I invited her in.
We sipped our drinks, which I ordered.
We spoke about ourselves and about love.

It seemed there was an allurement between us.
Indecision could not resolve our attractions.
There was a dangerous spell between us,
Something we could not easily resolve.
Was there chemistry between us?

Something lingered, I put my hand on hers.
Had we a promise neither of us dared to name?
Then, between stolen yet long glances,
A world waited vast enough to enthral us.
She showed me her train ticket for the next day.
That day, she was mine. I cared not for the next day.
