Forsaken

He thrust the dagger through her heart Then watched her breathe her last, For once she had forsaken him The die was surely cast. Upon her waxen cheek He placed a tender kiss. Then lay his head upon her breast And opened up his wrist. Tears stained his face As they were joined in death. He took her lifeless hand in his, Then took his final breath.
