Forsaken

When at last the storm has cleared
And all I ever wanted has left
You stepped into the light that I so feared
And showed me that I was truly bereft

You'd said you loved me, that you cared
But all that's left is pain and destruction
And where I was, so lonely and scared
You passed as though I was an obstruction

It is my fault, when is it not?
I destroy everything I touch
Because though I pushed and fought
I now know that I pushed too much

Love is such an evil thing
For I left you, and then you left me
