Rispetto
The rispetto lyric is generally composed of (two quatrains), eight hendecasyllabic (11-syllable) lines. Early on the rhyme scheme was usually abababcc , but ababccdd is now more prominent.

He's a scared, shivering, sad and lonely soul, today's version of a disposable man. Panhandling on cold city streets takes its toll, and he's devolved into a human trash can. Ostracized, he's stripped of any chance he had of finding love or of becoming a dad. And yet, his heart still harbors the forlorn hope that someday fate might yet change his horoscope. Emile, this is an outstanding piece based on an overwhelming problem. I read it and wept, not for his soul but for his life of despair. Thanks for writing this poem.

Yes, we do. I suspect you have a good heart, my friend, and I try very hard to have a good heart filled with love and compassion for everyone. The only things I completely abhor are bullying, bigotry, and prejudice. Thanks for your thoughtfulness.
