Forgotten North --My Mother Lives No More--

(written in despair following the death of my mother)

My Grief is fog
The sea is white

The winds are dead
And I am lost.

I turn to land.
My feet are bare.
I have no map
My road is gone.

Biting Rocks
Burning Ice
I am blind
And I am lost.

The compass twirls
And East is West.

The sky
        is
          black.

             & I
                  am lost.

My North is gone
      Forever
              gone.

And I am lost

           Forever

                 Lost.
