Forgotten Lifetime
everything slowly vanished
as our fingers intertwined
his touch made me tremble
there was no doubt this was a dream
chestnut eyes
dark brown hair
freckles dotted
across his nose and cheekbones
taller than me,
older than me,
wiser than me,
but that didn’t matter.
my dream life
haunted my mind
during the day
when I was away.
we met at the park,
I was reading on a bench.
he was walking his dog
and it was just a normal day.
he stopped and said hi.
I looked up and smiled.
he sat down next to me
and my cheeks burned with fire
Conversations erupt.
A spark is made.
You lean close, then
I wake up.
I look around,
Wondering where it went.
The dream world,
The forgotten lifetime.
All a Dream is,
Ever was, and will be
Is a lifetime never lived.
A forgotten lifetime.
