Forgotten Lament

The roaring tides of raging seas
Pave the way for man’s miseries
The simple things we try to hide
Things we as man cannot abide

The things we try to leave behind
Only come back to us in kind
Nipping our heels and biting us
For we are not victorious

We fear the dark, but not the light
Yet we choose neither in this fight
All we need now is peace and love
To reach out to heaven above
