Forgotten

Imprisoned in the hell, That was his own mind, The madness from within, No peace, he could find. The world had turned it's back, On the warrior, he had been, No respite or safe haven, From the horrors he had seen. His eyes blank from sadness, His heart a lonely beat, The memories he tries to forget, Forever play on repeat. He was once admired, He once stood proud and tall, Why do we allow, These great men to fall?

That's how I see it too. We read so much of how this happens. It's extremely sad. Hugs :-)

I can feel the pain and anxiety in your words today Kay. The flow and rhyming was spot on and added a lighter touch to this sad poem.

Hi Chris. I always try to find something light in any darkness. I guess it's my optimism, I've never been one for pessimism. I'd rather have hopes and dreams than give up or think the worse. Thank you once again for your kind words.

Thanks Rick. They usually have big hearts too and you know that old saying "The bigger they are, the harder they fall"?
