Forgotten

Death has come to me In the guise of an illness Calling out to me In an old name A name, I have not heard Since I was a child But as time tick toc’s away I refuse to listen To the Sirens call I am Ulysses… Strapped to the mast I am in desperate need Of hearing their voices Bu totally unable to respond Yes, death has come to me In the guise of a beautiful muse Who once brought me words In the form of poems The child I once knew Has gone to a place That Homer has whispered of A land I cannot return from Least my old name Be forgotten by everyone Including me
