Forgiving Others Sets Us Free
Forgiveness is a gift of God
for he is the perfect forgiver
casting all our sins far away
promising to always fully deliver
When we cast ourselves on the Lord
to receive His wonderful salvation
then we can be filled with His spirit
to fulfill His will on each occasion
Now when people treat us wrongly
God wants us to forgive them
true Christian behavior is to obey
whatever He says for it's His way
To freely forgive sets us free
for not doing so will keep us bound
so it's always better to be freed
God's blessing puts us on holy ground
Freely forgiving is always better
than holding grudges against anyone
it sets your soul up and away
as Jesus did being God's son
(This is written in response to some thoughts on forgiveness, Jesus told us to forgive others and sometimes we forget to forgive ourselves. Everyone does wrong and it frees us to forgive, then God can bring healing to your souls.)
