Forgiveness
Forgive me Father,
for I have lived
these years apart
with silent heart
that beat so quiet
in defeat
Unheard, unseen
neath face serene;
the face you'd
come to know
and loved,
your son
Forgive me Father,
for I've denied
in word, in deed
to serve one's need
so near and yet so
far away
Unsaid, unasked
behind the mask;
the veil you'd
shown alone
to me,
your son
Forgive me Father,
for I have judged
both mind and man
more righteous than
a mortal has a
right to be
Untrod, unknown
and all alone
the path you'd
walked ahead
awaits,
your son
