FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness is like a rose
Blooming in a wild garden.
From afar, its petals are tender
Yet its thorns pain they render.

Letting go of resentment
Feels like betrayal to the soul
A mere surrender to an enemy
A silent chirp upon the heart.

You feel vulnerable
And that can hurt deeply
Like offering a helping hand
That may never be appreciated.

Yet, despite it all, there's beauty in the struggle—
It lifts a burden so immense from the heart
Frees your soul for a fresh start
Laying all your suffering to rest.
