Forgive the Americans
Forgive the Americans, you forgave they who raped your land,
and they now forgive you; so becoming the forgiven, is your due
forgive the Americans, they who stole your breasts for a tobacco pouch,
and your skin and hair for boasting scalp,
forgive the Americans, they're not all bad, some have morals, others fears,
and all half-recognise your tears,
forgive the Americans, for"bites the dust", and slavish Jay Silverheel's, Tonto's
trust; forgive yourselves for trust misplaced, first nation reservation loss of face
and if forgiveness is the case, for Wounded Knee and Yellow Creek, then call the
day, and be as one, hatchet buried, winchester gone.
