I try hard too....I need to forget things that crop up and bite me the hardest sometimes.

It's a practiced art with me. I have even denied eating in a restaurant with a friend. Don't remember the occasion at all, and, believe me, I'm not suffering from dementia! You just have to practice blotting out unimportant stuff.
