Forget Me - My Valentine

Bloody Valentine..

A blistering and heavy, passionate night
The best Valentine's Day I had in years
Every minute at that point felt right
Until I heard him accidentally, call her name

The way he kissed me, the way he came to me
Made my skin crawl with envy!
I shut my eyes and opened them to a darker light
I pressed him away with rage
Suddenly the love began to fade off into the night
The flowers he gave me I trashed during the fight
I end my day with nothing more to say

Like a thief in the dark, my mind drove me insane
The echoes in my headwear; calling out her name
My sweet Valentine turned into a passion of crime
The thought of his heart not wholly mine
Put a tune on my obsession that I could not tolerate
Deep pain then came the hate

At last, ~ by morning light
I woke up next to the man I love
I found myself all covered up with his descent
His guts where spread like a blanket all over my bed
I reached and grabbed a rag and wiped off all his filth

At last ~ I felt no longer blind
I agreed to share what was on his lips
I send his ex-wife half of his tenderness
I believe he chose not to forget her, from the beginning...

:-)

Congratulations on your winning entry, Linda. He made a huge mistake by calling her name. He wanted it all, but you sent him away. It was a passionate night gone bad. I have loved reading it, although it has been a nightmare for you. Another great write from my admired poetess. Best Wishes and :), Andrew.

OUCH! wOW, such a brilliantly crafted poem. The emotions expressed through these select few words is just so perfectly displayed. I felt the familiar, maddening burn of envy myself. You are such a passionate, expressive writer. I love reading your stuff! Always, Laura
