Forget

I can’t forget that fateful night Filled with torture and pain, When my world was slowly shattered When my soul was bruised and slain. I can’t forget the loneliness I felt when I got home, To find the crushing darkness there To be left on my own. I can’t forget the shocking looks When pregnancy came around, How I was deemed a ****, A whore, a floozie about town. I can’t forget the hurtfulness While hiding the truth inside, Trying to keep my family’s hate From trampling on my pride. If only I could keep the past From crowding in on me, The I could learn to love my life And make HIM history. created 4 Jan 1992
