Forget

I cannot forget the taste of her,
how the cinnamon tingled on my buds
and quivered on my tongue.
I cannot forget the feel of her,
how the sensors of my palms
by electric wasps were stung.
I cannot forget the look of her,
how she painted icons with her flesh
and drew me all the while.
I cannot forget the face of her,
how she stood beneath the morning sun
with radiating smile.
I cannot deny the dream of her,
how it haunts my empty sleep,
pervades my waking hours.
I cannot accept the loss of her,
confusion throttling my thoughts
like weeds that strangle flowers.
I cannot reject the honesty,
the truth of what she was to me
in any given view.
I cannot express the magnitude
of how much she is part of me
in all I see and do...
