I watched love cross a bridge, never to return; yet lamented its loss the moment it did. Fate set that bridge on fire, and I let it burn as I cried inside, though those tears quickly hid. What was meant to last forever slipped away and left me haunting memories of that day. I learned happiness is fickle and fleeting; when the one you trust the most gets caught cheating.

At the time there seems that no betrayal could possibly be worse, and memories just don't subside. So hard to let something go that you love. Beautifully written, in keeping with the restraints of the form you chose Emile. best of Luck Wendy.
