Forever lost In You

I wish I could turn back time's cruel hand
Relive the moments, make them stand
See you again, feel your gentle touch
Hug you tight, kiss your loving clutch

Every day, memories haunt me like a ghost
Whispers of what we had, what we've lost
I yearn to hold you close, to keep you near
But like sand between my fingers, you slipped away, my dear

I failed to hold on, let you slip away
Now love's bitter truth, I'm left to stay
Tears fall like rain, can't bring you back
A hollow heart, forever trapped

I knelt, prayed, sent whispers in the night
Hi's that echoed, met with silence, endless fight
My knees ache, heart cries out in pain
Why you left, why I'm left to remain?

In this void, I'm lost, forever grey
Memories of you, my heart's disarray
Love's cruel jest, to love and lose
Forever bound to what could've been, what we chose
